Subject: [SFBirds] Common Ringed Plover - Candlestick
Today, the Common Ringed Plover originally found by Paul Saraceni last fall
and continuing recently at Yosemite Slough, was refound by Liam at
Candlestick / Last Port mudflat, just north of the San Francisco County
line, here: 37.709276, -122.391252, and then moved to here 37.709286,
-122.389967 with a group of 32 Semipalmated Plovers, from 4-5 pm when we
left it, almost at low tide. The bird took careful observation to pick out,
field marks and an attempt at documentation in eBird.

We had originally gone back to Yosemite today where the Semipalmated Plover
flock from yesterday was much smaller, then disappeared completely. Liam
noticed a couple plovers fly high south over Candlestick, so we relocated
to Last Port where he picked out the bird.

Also, the Palm Warbler observed at Candlestick yesterday was likely an
overwintering bird found by Travis Smith back on 11/15/25.
