Subject: [CT Birds] Rough-legged Hawk - Durham Meadows
The light morph Rough-legged Hawk put on an amazing show this afternoon in Durham. Actively hunting, hovering and perching. Perching never lasted very long. Was seen from both the Rt68 skating area and the meadows. I think best view for me was meadows in the first parking areas as you enter. Not all the way down to the model airplane parking. Stayed in area for several hours. Will post some photos on ebird and my FB wall, what a beauty!
I also photographed the dark morph a few days ago but only saw it the one time.
