Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Cactus Wrens (5) at Sandrock Canyon, Serra Mesa
Barbara Carlson and I birded some of the finger canyons of Serra Mesa this
morning (1/10) and came across a concentration of five Cactus Wrens at
Sandrock Canyon. We began at the northern end (32.7997826, -117.1371667
<https://maps.app.goo.gl/4We94H27L8f7yqHU8>), where one was singing from
the top of a tree and another was skulking nearby. About half a mile down,
we encountered another pair together, followed by a lone individual a
little farther along.

Just a heads-up for anyone working on a 5MR, etc.

Best regards,

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://sandiegofieldornithologists.org/san-diego-county-avian-records-database/.
