After being present for maybe 45 minutes or so on the eastern mud flat before the Sunset bridge, the Mountain Plover then just vanished while nobody was looking and so we don't know where it went. One recommendation for anybody going on tomorrow's pelagic trip is that Given you'll be in the area anyway, is Right after dawn to check the Mission Beach site where Nick had it first thing this morning with the snowy plovers.
I should add that when I showed up, five different people offered to show me the bird in their scope and every time I looked they were looking at a Black-bellied plover. So be aware of the potential for misidentifications.
