I'm no longer the EAC-CBC complier, the following is a cut and paste from
Lesile Koenig the current complier her 2025 summary report:
"American Kestrel (122 being higher than our first 10-year average)".
When recording species, I think it be very helpful such as American Kestrels
to report females and males. Researchers should want to know the gender mix.
Reporting on eBird when possible, by species I report the gender in the
comments.

I'm the Oregon CBC editor and am wondering whether the high kestrel numbers
of this fall carried over into the CBC season in NW California.
Here, they did in western Oregon but not in the northeast quarter of the
state. Several counts west of the Cascades had all-time records, for example
Tillamook Bay averages 15 and found 48.
