This morning I visited Frederick White farm in Durham (aka the Durham fairgrounds) and it took about an hour for the light phase Rough-legged to show up, but the wait paid off!

Initially spotted by Dan Rottino over the tree line north of the fairgrounds area, the bird hover-hunted and soared overhead for great looks and photo ops. It was last seen in the area near the skating pond along Route 68.

Photos are in my checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S293324622

What a bird!!
