It was partly cloudy and mild, with a slight breeze on the bird survey today. 54 species were found. Highlights were a couple Common Gallinules and an American Bittern. Here is my list for today: Greater White-fronted Geese - 70 Gadwall - 518 American Wigeon - 9 Mallard - 392 Northern Shoveler - 663 Northern Pintail - 33 Green-winged Teal - 350 Canvasback - 1 Ring-necked Duck - 475 Lesser Scaup - 1 Bufflehead - 8 Ruddy Duck - 8 Pied-billed Grebe – 13 Double-crested Cormorant - 2 American Bittern - 1 Great-blue Heron - 7 Great Egret - 1 Black Vulture - 5 Turkey Vulture – 26 Bald Eagle - 1 adult Northern Harrier - 4 Red-shouldered Hawk - 4 Red-tailed Hawk - 1 Common Gallinule - 2 American Coot – 600 Killdeer - 2 Greater Yellowlegs - 1 Least Sandpiper - 12 Wilson's Snipe - 17 Red-bellied Woodpecker - 3 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 1 Hairy Woodpecker - 1 Northern Flicker - 5 Pileated Woodpecker - 3 Eastern Phoebe - 10 American Crow - 11 Fish Crow - 37 Carolina Chickadee - 2 Tufted Titmouse - 2 Carolina Wren - 8 Winter Wren - 1 Marsh Wren - 3 American Robin - 13 Yellow-rumped Warbler - 4 Common Yellowthroat - 1 Eastern Towhee - 3 Savannah Sparrow - 2 Song Sparrow - 3 Swamp Sparrow - 3 White-throated Sparrow - 4 Northern Cardinal – 10 Red-winged Blackbird - 7 Common Grackle - 1 American Goldfinch - 5 Herps: Red-eared Slider Good birding!
