This morning I found a noticeably darker marked pipit with a flock of Americans at the southern softball fields at Kit Carson Park, Escondido. I'm not confident enough to call anything without further input, and id tips on separating American from Siberian would be appreciated. The most obvious field mark was a much darker malar triangle than usual with extensive black streaking and a lighter belly resulting in a stronger contrast between underparts and upperparts than the other pipits. The flock consisted of approximately 10 birds and moved between the two fields closest to the parking lot. Photos on my eBird list which have been minimally lightened in post due to the sun direction and were taken through a chain fence as the fields were not open today. https://ebird.org/checklist/S292209101
