Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] new Painted Redstart in town
The third Painted Redstart known to be in the county this season was just found today in the "Talmadge" neighborhood of San Diego, which is just southwest of San Diego State University. I inquired of the observer about the possibility of public access, and here is what they had to say:

You can see this bird from the road/walkway near the Jean Drive and Miracle Drive intersection in Talmadge. The canyon is fenced off but there is a public area at the end of Miracle Drive where you can look down into the canyon. The bird could be seen flying between residential trees and around the canyon rim on Miracle Drive. Hopefully this helps and I hope more people are able to see!!   --Kelsey

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
