Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to post an update about this past year. We have had a few of
the more serious health issues and the one Mary has ended her ability to
bird more than 30 minutes from home. When the year started she told me to
finish our goal of 125 in every county in Oklahoma which left me with 33
counties to do. Jerry Vanbebber was kind enough to escort me on many of my
trips and on June 19, 2025, in Logan county, I flushed 4 Northern Bobwhites
to complete the mission. We really enjoyed the county birding but it is
more arduous than you might expect……LoL
I will do as many Hackberry Flat surveys in the spring of 2026 as I am
able. It’s been a real pleasure meeting so many of you since we started
birding in 1998 and we wish all of you the goodest!
