On Sunday December 21, 6 very early Swainson's Hawks were observed in Borrego Springs. It's a reminder that the hawk season in Borrego will begin in late February through mid-April. If you would like to be added to the special ALERT system that is triggered when more than 100 Swainson's Hawks roost overnight you can go to the ALERT site to register. The alert is sent with instructions to observe the continued migration the following morning. We now have well over 500 folks on the system.
