This is the portion of pro closest to El Carro lane. In direct comparison with Cassin’s kingbird. A kingbird with an enormous bill, yellow underparts extending through breast (unlike nearby Cassin’s that showed fuller yellow underparts and gray breasts, smaller bills), a white chin and dark head. It was raining so the bird held its tail partially spread so the notched tail wasn’t apparent. Found here by Steve Gaulin and Colette Becker during the Carpinteria CBC on Dec 20, 2025."

- Comments: "Perched on barbed wire fence along side of road near weedy grassland and mixed flock of passerines. Allowed for good views and photos. Plain chest, short tail, large pink conical bill, white eyering, rufous markings on upper back. Photos."
