The Sandhill Cranes that usually show up in fields in Clark Co. near Arkadelphia (often best seen from the railroad tracks along Hwy 67 south of Arkadelphia and just before Gum Springs) were seen on December 19 and December 27 this year. In recent years they often show by late November. We usually have 10-20 birds but have seen only 2 this year.
