Subject: [sbcobirding] Merlin at COPR
Lynn and I spotted a Merlin eating what looked like a bird at Coal Oil Point Reserve yesterday morning. It was perched on top of the conifer at the junction of Slough Rd and the lane that runs east to W. Campus Ln at 34.414157, -119.873499. Last winter this was a regular perching site for a Merlin and this could well be the same bird.
