It is wild to think that there is a wayward Vermillion Flycatcher there in Arkansas. I am in Ecuador visiting my parents and saw a couple here yesterday. They live north of Quito about 100 yards south of the equator.
Tomorrow I am getting picked up by a guide that I also used in 2018 on a previous visit. We will be driving to Misahualli which is on the Napo River within the Amazon basin.
On my last trip here in December of 2023 a different guide took me to a few spots on the eastern slope of the Andes so it was also within the Amazon basin but this week I will be at a much lower elevation so should see lots of new birds.
I am hoping that I can get a YouTube video posted on my channel before New Year's Eve but it might be after that. I fly back home on the 29th. Merry Christmas to you all, Brian

Subject: Stuttgart Municipal Airport Today (Prairie County)
A young birder friend of ours from Georgia, John Mark Simmons, was on his way home from Nevada to be with his family for Christmas. He was hoping to pick up some life birds, so we took him to the Stuttgart Municipal Airport where we found a few SMITH LONGSPURS, SPRAGUE'S PIPITS and several LeCONTE'S SPARROWS. Several friends from Searcy joined us, giving us a fun time and a few lifers. Here's our checklist with a few photos.

On their way home, Dawna Stirrip and Daniel Denman stopped in Lonoke County to see the VERMILION FLYCATCHER which is continuing at the Mt Zion Baptist Church at 510 Petus Rd southwest of Lonoke. Here's the link to our Vermilion Flycatcher report:

On our way home, Michael and I unsuccessfully looked for the Ash-throated Flycatcher that was reported during the Lonoke County CBC on Sunday. No photos were taken and the bird remains unconfirmed at this time.
