Weather: Another frosty morning beginning at 17 F and rising to 23 F by the end of the count, Overcast all day, West wind was light to moderate all morning while tapering off into the afternoon, Some light snow showers getting heavier in final hour of the count
Raptor Observations: The morning hours were slow with no raptors observed. Between the afternoon lull and cold temps, an adult Golden Eagle rose slowly over the tree line along the north side of the ridge and made a close low pass while cutting over the road heading southwest.
A Red-tailed Hawk rose high over the ridge shortly after, gaining lift before continuing south. Both migrants on the day came in the same hour

Today was the final day of observation for counter Jess Cosentino. The count will continue daily (weather permitting) until 12/31

Non-raptor Observations: Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Hairy Woodpecker, Blue Jay, American Robin, Dark-eyed Junco 20, White-breasted Nuthatch, White-throated Sparrow 4, Northern Cardinal
Virginia Opossum (New Mammal species for the season): Seen foraging in the snow near the road in the afternoon, likely foraging on some of the bird seed
Predictions: Following recent cold days this last week, temps will get a bit warmer over this upcoming week
The next few days call for either west winds or variable south winds, with next north winds not until next Monday
