Subject: [ia-bird] Hawk Identification
I cannot identify this hawk, smaller with a shortish tail who was around
for some days perched in the Red Elm above where the little birds were
getting seed that I put out. The little birds had no fear of this hawk. When
it flew I could see the back of the tail and there was no red so I guess
this is not a Red Tail unless it is a first year? I imagine the hawk may
be someone I should be able to identify but alas...need the expertise of IA
Bird. Pictures not great..trying to be stealthy and they were shot from
inside.

Thank you,
A.Battle
