Hello All, Due to the impending snow storm on this coming Saturday night (12/13) and into Sunday (12/14), the Tygart Lake CBC which was scheduled for Sunday 12/14 is being postponed.
The prediction of 5" of snow with temps in the teens and 10-15 mph winds make it too dangerous for birders to drive in most of the count circle (windy, steep narrow roads... you know, West Virginia!) not to mention that active birding can put the birds' lives in jeopardy under those conditions as well. Thus, we are postponing for the safety of man and bird alike.
The new date for the Tygart Lake CBC is Sunday 12/28. Please let me know if you are interested in helping out and we will find a place and/or crew for you to count birds.
