Hi everyone, and Happy Holidays from your HMBC outreach corner. We’ve got a couple of fun year-end market appearances coming up, and yes, one of them is on short notice, because that’s just how December rolls. This Sunday, December 14, we were able to snag a last-minute spot at the Schenectady Green Market, and we’ll be inside at Proctors along the Promenade hallway from 10 to 2. I’ll be there to set up the booth, and we’ve still got a nice stack of backyard bird posters, some candy, and the usual assortment of bird-chat fuel. If anyone can swing by for an hour or two to help hold down the table, that would be awesome, and if you could let me know by tomorrow or Thursday, I always appreciate the heads up on who can make it out. It’s a great way to enjoy the farmers market and soak in a little holiday cheer. Then on Saturday, December 27, we’ve got the Troy Farmers Market holiday appearance, also indoors, running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and that one is a couple days after Christmas. Right now we don’t have anyone lined up for Troy at all, so if you’re around that week and feel like talking birds going into the new year, we’d really appreciate the help. These markets have been going great, with lots of good conversations and a lot of interest from folks who didn’t even know they were birders yet. Membership is up, our social media following keeps growing, and it really feels like the club is getting more attention thanks to everyone pitching in. Thanks again for all your support, and hope to see you at one of the markets this month.
