Common Merganser 92 counted as they swam by.
Bonaparte's Gull 6 They were in with a group of ring-billed gulls so
the size was noticeable. They were smaller. They had a black spot behind
the eye. When the ring-billed guls flew the Bonaparte's all stayed together
on the water.
We had good light on them, with the sun behind us. They were on the water
about 50' in front of us. We watched them through 10x42 binoculars.
