Hi All - At the recommendation of Nathan Pieplow, I'm putting word out about a recent Crissal Thrasher observation in Yellow Jacket Creek in Montezuma County: https://ebird.org/checklist/S283022263.
The audio recording was taken about 25 yards from the well located pin for this hotspot.
There have been other recent CRTH observations not far from here in Chinle Wash, AZ. The thin ribbon of desert riparian is essentially continuous from Chinle Wash through to its confluence with the San Juan River and further upstream to McElmo and Yellow Jacket Creeks in Colorado. CRTH seem like a logical species to be expanding into our warming, drying corner of the state.
If anyone is interested in more details about this observation or about access to Yellow Jacket please feel free to email me directly.
