Iceland gull numbers seem to be building on the mohawk above the crescent power station dam. We had 2 in great viewing conditions from flight lock rd this afternoon (earlier ebird reports from this morning had 6 (!)). There was a third white-winged gull there when we were looking (~ 2p). It seemed somewhat bulkier, but in the original view the head and bill were not showing. After the birds all temporarily flushed from the ice, we re-found this individual and it had the obvious large pink bill with clean black tip of a 2nd year glaucous gull. Not the biggest, so presumably a female, and primaries seemed a little longer relative to the tail than typical, but the proportions were certainly more chunky than adjacent Iceland.
There were also a lot of very viewable gulls at the New St and School St overlooks in Cohoes, but nothing other than the 3 common species that we could pick out.
