Tropical Kingbird (Tyrannus melancholicus) (2) CONFIRMED
- Reported Dec 02, 2025 08:58 by Mark Holmgren
- Andree Clark Bird Refuge, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.6572856&<ll...>,-119.6572856
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S287094398
- Media: 2 Photos
- Comments: "The 3 places where I saw TKs are far apart and shown on the aerial image:
---- [10:23 and again 25 min later] On the zoo side of the lagoon.
---- [11:18] At the parking area squabbling and calling with 2 Cassin's Kingbirds.
---- [11:39] The third was at the second, middle, viewing platform.
The 2 north side kingbirds might have been the same birds. But I'm comfortable saying that at least 2 Tropical Kingbirds are present at ACBR today."

Swamp Sparrow (Melospiza georgiana) (1)
- Reported Dec 02, 2025 08:58 by Mark Holmgren
- Andree Clark Bird Refuge, Santa Barbara, California

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S287094398
- Comments: "At the third (west-most) platform. Call note and visual. Quite furtive, it proved impossible to photograph. Call note is very different than that of Song Sparrow, present also here. The call is sort of like Black Phoebe. After hearing the call, I saw the gray breast with some black smudges and extensive reddish brown on much of the wing."

Summer Tanager (Piranga rubra) (1)

- Hale Park, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.6573704&<ll...>,-119.6573704
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S287063619

Dark red, very verbal, observed feeding high in the eucalyptus trees adjacent to Camino Viejo Road. On December 1, 2024, I observed a male summer tanager at this same location, raising a question as to whether this might be the same individual."
