Brownish buffy above. Very long narrow wings. Flying just over the grass like a big floppy moth, suddenly turning sideways and falling into grass. At one point had had it in the same binocular view as one of the Barn Owls for a really nice direct comparison. Noticeably proportionally longer and narrower wings, darker brownish vs. the very pale Barn, slimmer and less forward-heavy looking."

- Comments: "First heard and then seen near Counseling and Career Services building. One flew off over the Thunderdome, another one or two flew together into a live oak and then sycamore northwest of Old Gym Wetland. Later on seen again around the eastern corner of the Student Health block, flew from a blue gum into a magnolia.
Quite vocal both times. I got a pretty good audio recording but forgot that Merlin no longer defaults to saving so I lost it - bummer."
