Official Counter: Cindy Bickel
Observers:
Visitors: Tons of cars stopped by the overlook once the sun came out. Two couples from Bucks County visited for a while and will come back again. Two local gentlemen and a younger friend from Alberta, Canada stopped up to chat and a lone highway hiker made his way to the overlook and turned around and started back down the way he had come.
Weather: Completely overcast until about noon with steady winds all day from the NE.
Raptor Observations: First two sightings of the day came from the Big Valley side and crossed over (very low) the parking lot to the Ferguson Valley side. Later on birds were either following the ridge except for the TV's that were to our South. Local raptors not counted today included: Bald Eagles (3), Black and Turkey Vultures and Red-tailed Hawks.
Non-raptor Observations: A 29 member murder of Crows flew by in the early afternoon and a local Raven escorted a migrating Red-tail through its air space. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Darrell Smith (<oleagleye...>)
