Official Counter: Nick Bolgiano

Observers: Peggy Wagoner

Weather:
Overnight and early morning rain, front clear around 10. Wind NW 4-7 mph,
initially cloudy clearing in afternoon, temp 7-11C.

Usually, a 4-7 mph wind causes birds to fly low along BE Mt and numbers are
low. So, I didn't expect to see many. However, birds were very high today
and widely scattered. There must have been a topographic effect upon the
updraft to provide an efficient lift, something that I have not previously
seen before. Further, after 5 days of weather not conducive to migration,
birds were ready to go.

Raptor Observations:

1608 Unk(2)

BE: Ad-7, Imm-3

Some GEs (#7-10) were over the AF foothills. Most were seen high over BE Mt
and several flew towards the AF foothills. Most came high overhead and aged
when they circled >1 mi away.
