I went out north of Pt Isabel starting at S 51 st not expecting to see too much today. With very light winds a a gray sky it turned out to be surprisingly good. Among the species I hadn’t seen there were a Bald Eagle, Cooper’s Hawk, a couple of Cedar Waxwings, and a White-throated Sparrow. I was on my way back and watching a hundred or so shore birds in Stege Marsh, when they all launched into the air. They saw the Bald Eagle long before I did. It flew over to a telephone pole on the east side and stayed for the next half hour or so.
