Wednesday night Nov. 19th I had barely gotten into bed when at 11:49pm I heard the distinct hoots of a Great Horned Owl not far outside my window.
He hooted 6 times in the first 10 minutes, was quiet for about 15 minutes then held an extended “conversation “ with a girlfriend.
Their duet continued off and on for the next hour. It was wonderful.
