Subject: [centralvalleybirds] Leucistic Bald Eagle at Michigan Bar, Sacramento
Hi folks,

I made a short visit to Michigan Bar this morning and was surprised to see
a leucistic Bald Eagle eating a salmon downstream from the bridge.
Some distant photos are here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S284819241

Also, I saw my first Lewis's Woodpecker along Michigan Bar Rd in 2025. Fair
numbers have been in the Coast Range, but they seem scarce around the low
foothills on the east side of the Valley in the Sacramento area for the
second winter in a row (so far).

Take care,

Chris Conard
Sacramento
