Seven birders came together today for a tranquil yet joyous bird sit today morning led by myself and Howard Friedman at Lake Cunningham's Duck Cove in East San Jose. Among the 20 species that came to visit us during this single hour, some highlights included:
- a holiday assortment of grebes (Eared Grebes, Western Grebes, Pied-Billed Grebes)- a Green Heron- a Double-Crested Cormorant- a Ruddy Duck- several dozen Great-Tailed Grackles who appeared to be just as curious about us as we were about them
