A few days ago, some Red-winged Blackbirds appeared on the feeder tray. Two males and a female. One male decided to stay. He's here at least half of every day. Today, he joined other birds in the birdbath.
It's such a treat to see this bird up close. They are so velvety unlike the glossy look of most other black-feathered birds. So pretty.
Three Pileated Woodpeckers are coming to the suet again. One of the males is smaller, so I'm assuming it's last year's. A Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Brown Creeper and two pairs of Purple Finches have also made an appearance.
