Weather:
Overcast with light southeast wind, High in low 50s F

Raptor Observations:
Less than ideal wind conditions for mid-November brought a slower flight,
with all birds passing along the south side of the ridge. Almost entirely
composed of Red-tailed Hawks, the buteos would continue to appear catching
lift up the ridge and tucking into long glides that would take the birds
slightly above eye level as they rode the updrafts

A single Cooper's Hawk shot down the ridge on the south side, but much
higher, in a long glide while a distant speck of a Sharp-shinned Hawk
thermaled over the valley to the north of the ridge before heading south

First bird RT 9:39
Last bird BE 3:53

Non-raptor Observations:
Pileated Woodpecker 1, Common Raven 1, Cedar Waxwing 34, Tufted Titmouse 3,
Carolina Chickadee 2, Horned Lark 5, Eastern Bluebird 2, American Robin 65,
American Pipit 4, Purple Finch 19, American Goldfinch 26, White-throated
Sparrow 1, Rusty Blackbird 5, blackbird sp. 85, Common Grackle 17, Northern
Cardinal 2

Predictions:
A front moves through overnight, followed by a shift to northwest winds in
the early morning leading up to sunrise. Northwest winds will continue all
day, strongest by noon into the afternoon hours well into sunset. High of
51 F and the wind chill will surely feel much colder

Optimism remains high, conditions are highly favorable, and tomorrow could
produce a great mid-November raptor flight
