Weather:
High in upper 50s F, Mix of light cloud cover, Sturdy northwest winds from
sunrise throughout the morning hours while tapering in velocity as the
afternoon progressed and shifting to NNW > North later in the count period

Raptor Observations:
The morning raptor flight brought a mix of species, as Bald Eagles and
Red-tailed Hawks moved steadily southward as the strongest northwest winds
of the day blew in during the first hours following daylight. The count
would be dominated by these two species for the remainder of the day as
they continued to move southward during each hour

The first Golden Eagle did not appear until 11 AM, with the second passing
closer to 1 PM (both adults). The flight lines had both birds passing along
the north side of the ridge, with the first Golden of the day passing
somewhat close while quickly shooting out of the treeline and passing
within view for just a few seconds before disappearing behind the trees as
it continued south. The second Golden appeared much higher in altitude,
passing along a lengthy glide which took the bird along the valley to the
north of the ridge

A third Golden passed around 2:30 PM at the highest altitude seen all day,
tucked into an uninterrupted glide as it passed overhead and continued
south
