Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Kurt/Sally Kraus

Observers: Kevin Shannon, Larry Coble, Sue Dibble, Tom Garner

Visitors:
Visitor observers Samir and Yusuf Saadeh from Chester Co. were welcomed
guests. Numerous vista viewers (N=29). A number of hunters (uncounted) came
and left throughout the day.

Weather:
West-North-West winds were consistent in direction but changed speeds
frequently throughout the day. Blustery with occasional gusts reported at
27mph until our final observation hour when they became calm to almost
still.
Cloud cover varied wildly from 90% to 20%. Visibility at the horizon was
excellent with no haze. Humidity fell from 74% to 48% through the day.
Barometric pressure remained quite constant at 29.98-30.01. Temperatures
rose slightly throughout the day, a high in the morning of 10.6C to 14.4C
at 4:00PM(DST)

Raptor Observations:
A relatively slow day with most raptors at high altitude. Two midday Golden
Eagles both immature passing in the 11:00 hour. An excellent Bald Eagle day
with 18 birds.

Non-raptor Observations:
Common Loons were prevalent migrants today, a total of 36 birds. One solo
loon was observed flying with an unspecified grebe, an odd pair, in the
2:00 hour. Seven Ring-bill gulls in the same hour.

Predictions:
Speculation that the high winds yesterday and relatively slow day today may
have delayed migrants to the north; we are awaiting a robust count in the
near future.
