Weather: Cloudy, snow showersearly, light dusting of snow on the ground, wind NNE to 15 mph, waves 2’ to 3’,temp. 33 F.
Comments: Visibility was less than½ mile during the first 30 minutes of the watch, but then the snow stopped andvisibility became unlimited, but the warm water of Lake Erie combined with thecold air created heat waves over the water, blurring any birds moving low overthe water. Surprisingly slow with mostbirds moving east. American Wigeon madea decent showing with eastbound flock sizes of up to 32 birds. Red-breasted Mergansers were staging justoffshore.
