Weather:
High in upper 50s F, Cloudless blue sky all morning and lasting into the
afternoon, Steady northwest wind all morning picking up velocity by
afternoon

Raptor Observations:
Another day with a very slow morning of raptor movement. The wind from the
northwest picked up into the afternoon, and the raptor flight followed

The afternoon lull was interupteed by a quick pass of a Merlin as it cut
quickly north to south directly across the ridge

The Golden Eagle flight picked up in the mid-afternoon, as eagles began to
be detected shortly after 2 PM. Two birds passing in that hour, followed by
three more Goldens passing in the 3 PM hour made for a nice push in the
late day as sunset crept in and daylight began to fade.

The first Goldens of the afternoon were spotted distant to the north of the
ridge, passing high to the southwest over
the valley. The Goldens during the 3 PM hour were closer to the ridge,
rising up to the north and passing high over the ridge. The late afternoon
sun cast a golden glow across the Golden Eagles moving in the cold early
November air as the day faded into the western horizon, providing excellent
views as the large eagles made long and slow passes southward
Last bird SS 4:06
