Observation start time: 08:45:00 Observation end time: 14:00:00 Total observation time: 5.25 hours
Official Counter: Phil Keener
Observers: Craig McCoy, Fred Paley, Mike Sankovich, Tom Warman
Visitors: 21
Weather: Temp = 9-11C/48-52F, consistent strong west winds with occasional gusts, cloud cover as high as 98% in am, down to 10% by end of watch. Good visibility.
Raptor Observations: Decent count with good variety. Bald Eagle counts at this site are a challenge as proximity (4-5 mi) to Susquehanna R has eagles constantly moving back and forth. However, today between 1200 -1400 the consensus of the four observers was that there was evidence that there was migration movement and 8 eagles were counted as migrants in that 2 hour period. In looking at the other PA site results for today there were good bald eagle counts at many of those sites as well. Local BVs, TVs, Bald Eagles and Red-taileds active.
Non-raptor Observations: Pretty consistent American robin movement. Up to five common ravens in view at one time.
Predictions: Slightly warmer, continued fairly strong westerly winds but not as strong as today. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Parks Volunteer (<parks...>)
