Today on a walk my friend and I spotted a spotted towhee with an orange spot on the crown. The spot took up most of the crown. We looked through photos on Merlin but couldn’t find pictures that showed this color. We only had our phones, so video isn’t the best. If you zoom in you can see it.
Any idea how this coloring occurs?
Thank you,
Annette Aguero
