Growing up in Columbia County, Bill’s name was a staple in the region’s
birding community for as long as I can remember (mid-1990s for me). I don’t
recall ever meeting Bill, but many of the mentors who shaped my early years
of birding certainly did. For that, I’m deeply grateful for his legacy. RIP.
