Observation start time: 10:00:00 Observation end time: 14:00:00 Total observation time: 4 hours
Official Counter: Craig Hedlund
Observers: Alan Simon, Dave Eberly
Weather: Another blustery day with strong W winds like yesterday but today was colder. The temperature ranged from the mid to upper 30s. The sun appeared intermittently which helped a little.
Raptor Observations: A few TVs moved through in the afternoon. A couple 3rd year Bald Eagles were the only other migrants.
The local Red-tails, TVs, a juvenile Cooper's Hawk and our Merlin buddy were all flying lower than usual apparently to get some protection from the wind.
Non-raptor Observations: A few starlings, Red-winged Blackbirds and Cedar Waxwings were moving around but most of the others were apparently hunkered down.
Predictions: Warmer but the west winds will continue. Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. ======================================================================== Report submitted by David Eberly (<david.eberly...>) Rose Tree Park information may be found at: https://bcdelco.org/activities/rose-tree-park-hawkwatch/
