Subject: [CT Birds] Coastal Center
11/12 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center. 9:45am-1PM. overcast,
low tide rising, 39F.
Quiet at the center today.
On the marsh: 1 Bald Eagle on the marsh at low tide, 6 flyover Canada
Geese, 19 American Black ducks, 5 Cormorants flew over, 4 Gadwalls, and
far out about 100 Dunlin (in winter plumage). Thank you Ava for help with
the ID.
On the grounds & feeders: Flock of about 150 Starlings again in trees, at
bird baths and bathing in the fountain, 1 Cedar Waxwing & 1 Cardinal joined
about 30 of the starlings at the fountain, 15 White throated sparrows, 22
House sparrows, 16 House finches, 2 Song sparrows, 3 Titmouse, 30 Mourning
doves, 1 Downy woodpecker.
