The Canaan Christmas Bird Count will be held on December 21 this year. Please let me know if you would like to participate, and if you have a preference for territory. I'll be in touch with assignments, etc. during the second week of December.
On a birdy note, I've also been seeing Purple Finches and Dark-eyed Juncos (carolinensis) at the feeders, although they are not getting much action - seems to be a lot of natural food for the birds this season. An Eastern Phoebe checked it out yesterday then moved on.
