Hello Chuck,
Thank you for offering the Community Garden Harvest challenge again this year and for tracking everyone's progress. All the time you put into this is greatly appreciated. It is great fun and good seeing how everyone else is doing. Redding will never catch Allen's or Bauer but it is still fun doing the best we can. Maybe someday we'll have a few surprises. Many new birds are certainly possible, including Wilson's Snipe and Vesper Sparrow! Best bird for us this year was probably a somewhat unexpected Black-throated Green Warbler. It is a great spot for a relatively wide range of Sparrows. Thanks again!

CT Birders -
Once again, Allen‘s Meadows is the winner of the community garden harvest contes t…congratulations to the Allen’s birders!! No matter what place your hotspot landed, I hope birders enjoyed ‘patch birding ’. It helps you learn the best spots to bird within an area, allows you to tune into the pulse of birds through season changes, and encourages you to bird more intensively in search of something different. And of course getting out more o ften and birding with a purpose also sharpens your ID skills! My favorite bird this past week was an unusually cooperative Wilson’s Snipe whic h I found right in the middle of the community garden at Bauer Farm. Photos are on my checklist [1]https://ebird.org/checklist/S282204995 Please share any highlights of your experiences; your favorite bird, a patch fir st, anything unusual, or even notable misses may interest others in our communit y!
