*Bald Eagle Mountain - Eagle Field*

Observation start time: 12:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 4 hours
Official Counter Nick Bolgiano
Observers:
*Weather:*
Wind initially SW 4-7 mph, switched to WSW 8-12, eventually 13-17 mph. A
few clouds at start, but clouded over late.
*Raptor Observations:*
GE (Ad): 1221, 1456. Both were hugging BE Mt when first seen. The first one
crossed the gap and flew above the ridge on the R, a common pattern with SW
wind. The second flew flew above I-99 through gap, disappeared near S
Lookout, then flapped back to the NW side. I thought that it would either
flap along the NW side or take the same path as the first bird. But it
circled very high above the ridge E of the tower and eventually headed S
toward Scotia Barrens or Tussey Mt. I believe that it was spooked by the
traffic on I-99 and wanted to get far away. Among the most spooked GEs that
I've seen here.
*Non-raptor Observations:*
*Predictions:*
Next watch days, with predicted wind: Thurs - WNW 10-14 mph, the better
forecast Sat - W 8-11 mph Colder and good wind days next week. I expect GE
numbers to gradually increase then.
