Subject: [southbaybirds] Ed Levin Waterfowl Oct 31
On Oct 29 I found a female-type Blue-winged Teal and American Wigeon at Spring Valley pond. I couldn't refind them yesterday, but they were there today. Both are very inconspicuous as they poke around the shore. A female Northern Shoveler was also present. There are only two previous reports of Blue-winged Teal in Ebird for the whole park. Two Muscovy-types continue. At Sandy Wool Lake there was male Hooded Merganser, annual, and an Eared Grebe, very uncommon.Dave Weber,Milpitasby phone
