Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Chestnut-collared update
As of 10:00 a.m. the chestnut collared longspur is still present in the same set of ball fields associated with the flock of 15 to 20 American pipits. The birds move around the fields periodically, no surprise. Typical longspur fashion, it moves more slowly and squats lower in the grass than do the pipits, So can be harder to see. A dull female type. These are the fields that are in the South Central part of Robb field just to the west of the basketball courts.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
