American Bittern (Botaurus lentiginosus) (1)
- Reported Oct 27, 2025 07:46 by John Deacon
- Oso Flaco Lake (not for beach/ocean), San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.6207848&<ll...>,-120.6207848 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S281656483 - Comments: "Bulky heron. Overall brown with white stripes on neck. Dark malar markings. Flew to south side of the big lake. He was originally on the north side of the big lake. As he flew by to the south side of the like, I got very good looks at distinguishing features. On the far side of the lake, I could barely distinguish it in the reeds with my spotting scope."
