Lucy's Warbler (Leiothlypis luciae) (1) CONFIRMED
- Reported Oct 23, 2025 09:04 by Nick & Jane
- Morro Creek mouth, San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.8624411&<ll...>,-120.8624411 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S280984480 - Comments: "Continuing from yesterday. A serendipitous sighting today as some of us were gathered where it had been seen, while Jack rediscovered it while sitting on a cement pole/block to the west of where it had been seen yesterday. This was maybe 25 yards east of bridge. The bird was across the creek (north side) foraging mostly in fennel. Seen amid flock of bushtits, though a townsy and house finches were nearby. Nice unobstructed views of the bird’s coloration, brighter than bushtits, more reminiscent of blue-gray gnatcatcher plumage. The bird had brighth blue-grey upperparts, a creamy off-white underside, white undertail coverts, a dirty chest and throat, and prominent pale eyering. It also had a rusty crown spot and rusty rump. Its tail was short. Photos."
American Redstart (Setophaga ruticilla) (1) CONFIRMED
- Reported Oct 23, 2025 15:38 by Tom Edell
- Del Mar Park--Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, California

- Comments: "Immature male found by Matt Brady. When I saw this bird it was actively feeding in arroyo willows and rarely staying in one place for mote than a second. It tended to stay higher up in the trees. It constantly spread its tail showing the yellow in the outer tail feathers and the darker outer tail band. The yellow at the shoulder had an orange tint suggesting this bird was an immature male. Beside the shoulder color, the bird was pale below with a white throat and gray head. I don't recall seeing the back."
