While watching the fire at Alum Rock Park from my dorm room window, a FERRUGINOUS HAWK flew through my binocular view! It has been drifting around near the south end of the San Jose Airport for the past 5 minutes. If you live in the area, look up for a chance at a new yard bird!
Hopefully they can get the fire under control soon. There are several Cal Fire planes there now.
Do not disclose information that identifies the location of nesting birds of any species, to minimize stress on the nesting birds and the risk of vandalism or abuse.
