Total observation time: 7.5 hours

Official Counter: Cindy Bickel, Craig Kochel

Observers: Craig Kochel, Kasei Augustine, Mark Shope

Visitors:
One couple, the Elliotts and a local motorcyclist, Mr. Everly stopped by to
chat awhile. Several cars pulled in late in the afternoon to watch at
para-sailor launch from the overlook.

Weather:
A pleasantly cool day with clear blue skies and light southerly winds that
held steady for most of the day. Cumulus clouds then formed throughout the
afternoon making it easier to spot migrators.

Raptor Observations:
All hawks and butterflies were on the southern side of the watch today,
starting out at eye level and moving upward and further out over Ferguson
Valley as the day progressed. We were hoping to see some bald eagle flight
today but were disappointed when none appeared. Our usual local raptors
that were not counted included: Red-tailed Hawks, Turkey and Black
Vultures.

Non-raptor Observations:
Bluejays, Piliated Woodpecker, Gold Finch and a flock of waterfowl heading
towards the Juniata River were all seen.
Nemo and friends also made appearances today. What didn't appear were the
large numbers of pesky Lantern Flies and Stink Bugs!
